MAS CARICATURAS...DE FAMOSOS

Por fin he podido sacar tiempo este fin de semana para hacer caricaturas nuevas para mi catalogo. Me apetecía hacer algo diferente a lo mismo de siempre pero siguiendo con el mismo estilo, y creo que voy por buen camino.  ¿Quien es ella?

I finally was able to post some new caricatures I've been working on for my new catalog.  I wanted to draw something a little different but in the same style.  What do you think?   Who is she?

Here is a photo of myself and fellow artist-painter Rodrigo Lazcano. 

I am doing caricatures at La Salsa Nightclub.  I know of may caricature

 artists who draw at events such as birthday parties, weddings, family reunions,

 etc. I also do the same.  I enjoy drawing people of all ages, in all different

 kinds of settings.  Caricatures are great for any event.  At nightclubs,

 caricaturists break the ice at the begining of the night and continue

 to please the clients throughout the night.

Founder/Director of Caricatures Without Boundaries Deborah Moreno's artwork will be on exhibition at FIRST FRIDAYS ON THE BOULEVARD in KC MO . All are invited to the art opening on Friday September 3. 

It takes time...

Years ago, thirteen, to be exact, I started doing caricatures on a daily basis.
Back then the caricatures were not so good, but I was able to sell them,
 probably because of my charming personalty, haha.
Lack of experience, and although I practiced every single day
 for a minimum of two hours straight, it was many months
 before I felt comfortable charging my customer for their drawing. 
 I remember how, back then, I knew the sketch was a bit off,
and I'd say stuff like: "well, I'll put your name on it so you know its you"
 Little by little as the months, then the years went by, I got better. 
 On any given day I would notice a small improvement that made me feel great
and made me want to get better and better.  Thirteen years later, I'm still in love
with my profession.  It is a great way to make a living and I recommend it to anyone
who likes to draw.

What is it like to be a caricature artist :)

To be a caricature artist for me, is to enjoy work as if it was play.   Getting paid is a bonus.
 A caricaturist like me spends a lot of her time sketching, thinking about cartoon bodies,
 colors, art supplies, etc.

Some of the usual things a caricaturist is asked on a daily basis are:

  How long have you been drawing?  I usually answer: oh, about half an hour!
Where did you go to school to learn caricatures?  Well, of course!
 I went to the Caricature Institute of Las Vegas, Nevada!  Not really,
 I went for Fine Art at the Kansas city Art Institute.
 I learned caricatures at Circus-Circus in Las Vegas.
 I really live to paint and paint to live.

I've been a long time fan and support

the Shakespeare Festival by providing caricatures as

entertainment to the little guests who will no doubt

will be supporters themselves!
